About LIDCAP:

The Leather Industries Development Corporation of A.P.Ltd, is established on 4th October 1973 under Indian Companies act 1956 with the Share Capital of Rs.1.00 crore initially with twin objectives viz.

  1. To promote the Leather Industry in Andhra Pradesh.
  2. To uplift the Leather artisans in the State.

Vision

To make Andhra Pradesh as the best state in promoting leather sector duly creating maximum imployment to leather artisans with optimum utilisation of raw hide resources with maximum value addition though creation of sound infrastructure and skill upgradation.

LIDCAP had taken advance possession of the lands from various districts and in some districts buildings were constructed and machinery was installed and training was also imparted. In order to implement the schemes covered in the leather policy for the welfare of leather artisans or for the promotion of leather sector in the state, there is a need to collect various data such as details about the leather artisans, societies, trained / skilled persons in the leather technology, NGOs, Societies, Voluntary organizations, Associations, training institutes, Self-help groups who are working for promotion of leather sector or for the growth of leather artisans, raw hide collection dealers, Drum beaters (Dappu Kalakarulu) belongs to Scheduled Castes – B category, Micro, Small, Medium enterprises in the footwear, leather products, leather processing and tanneries.
